You may have an older version of Java on your PC. You may want to install the latest Java Runtime here http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp
It also doesn't hurt if you have more than 256 MB of Ram, 512 would be better. You can find PC100 or PC133 ram real cheap online.

Hi mjh302, I don't think you should you should be running lime wire on your windows 98 PC at all. that is just one of the problem that you are running in to now. and soon are later you may find that your PC is running very slow too. and as you may know lime wire comes with spy wares, virus, etc so just be carefully. try scanning your PC OK.

seems like you have a ram shortage
that is the most obvious solution anyway
find the right ram compatibility using this tool

then buy the ram super cheap on eBay

that's my recommendation to speed your comp up
