If it will relieve you from the frustration you built up or if you feel bad about the entire situation, if you don't have any more vision on the future and are entirely focused on this decision, it can be a big relief once it's over. The decision can loosen your tensions and make all your worries go away. You will be happy once it's over. That's why it sometimes can be very good to do this. Nothing to be ashamed off, you never HAVE TO feel anything. If you feel relieved and happy for what will or has happened, why would you deceive your own feelings for what other people expect?

It could be denial. I've had that before. Right after I'd break up with someone, I'd be happy, but then a little while later I'd be bummed. But maybe you just want to play the field and not be tied down, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Yea, I think it is normal. I don't think there is a single guy I dated and wasn't excited that we broke up. With one guy who broke up with me I danced hysterically. I was sooo happy.
