I have the new Windows Vista on the way through mail. When I download this new software onto my computer. Does this mean my video games (such as the Sims2) will not play on my computer anymore? It only provides information that the video game only works with Windows XP. I thought maybe the Maxis Coporation just hasn't included the Windows Vista into there selection. Will there be any other alterations such as the dilima with the video game?

This not True........ I run Vista Home premium and yes I had to go and download the patch for Sims2. It runs just as good as it did on my XP machine. Do not believe everything you read about Vista. There is nothing wrong with it. Most games and programs are in the process creating drivers and patches. I have not had any games, programs or devices not work on Vista. I have been a devoted XP person for a while now and just purchased a new PC about a month ago with Vista on it. Have not had any problems yet. It is different, but it runs just fine. It does take up alot of memerory and resources, so you will need a strong computer to run it properly. Good luck and forget about the Vista haters out there.

From what I have read, Nvidia is still trying to write new drivers for Vista! I would advise you to think twice before installing Vista immediately. I think it would benifit you to wait at least a year, so that everything will be worked out, and there will be no more instability issues. It is quite possible that Sims 2 will not work, though you should check with Maxis (they still own Sim, right), as they would know for sure.

If you looked for the many vista questions here, it's all about the same, there are alot of issues with vista, and if it can play the game, it will run it slower. That's just a fact. Acticles are naming Vista the next Win ME (another crappy os).

You really should stick with XP, at least it works.

I have not had any problems playing on my system and have not read anything about incompatabilities between them. I have seen hardware compatability issues but nothing with Sims2.
