My eyes water when I use that certain voice used to talk to babies. I used to think I was a freak of nature but recently found out that my cousin and one of my friends does the same thing. When my daughter was an infant I would be talking to her in "motherese" with tears streaming down my face. It happens when I talk to other people's kids in the same voice.
I cannot find anything on the internet that might explain this.
Just wondering how many people this happens to and if anyone knows why?

It's not emotional. It even happens when I'm reading my daughter a story and use different voices for the characters. I'm not crying just my eyes water. I'm sure its somehow physiological, I just wish I could find an explanation.

My eyes dont water when I use baby talk but they water when I'm telling a scary story. I dont know why because it doesnt scare me to tell a scary story or anything but its happened my whole life. I dont know why your eyes would water because of baby talk either. But I'm betting there are lots of people whose eyes water when they use baby talk and people whose eyes water in other situations.

well i have 2 younger brothers when i talk to the youngest one in baby talk i am fine but i think it is because your body is not use to you talking like that but i am not sure i hope you find out why this is happening!

YOUR NOT ALONE , I AM A MALE AND MY EYES WATER ..YOU ARE LIKE ME , WE HAVE SENSITIVE EYES , MAYBE DUE TO THE STRAIN OF TALKING "BABY TALK"
