Make up an excuse to talk to him; ask him about a homework question. Guys love to help if it lets them show off. Take it slow, like you would a stray puppy; keep your voice low, don't make any sudden moves and, if possible, offer him food.

Maybe you should ask the guy if he likes you and maybe he won't be as shy to you as he was when you didn't ask him!! My boy friend was the same thing like the guy you like and i liked him a lot. I asked him if he liked me and he said yes and now we are going out! We have been going out for like 2 or 3 years now!

this happens to me a lot when im in lunch i look around and accidently catch someone eye and then everytime i look around for a while i will always catch the same persons eye

maybe you could try being his friend - joining a club he's in...something to get to know him better - see if he really does like u - whether u like him - how u guys get along TOGETHER (not just by looking at each other)
