Please help me understand why you say Jesus died for us when he was captured and murdered, how is being nailed to a cross dying for your people. Also after he became alive again after being dead for 3 days how much longer did he live for after that?

I can't understand how the religion has lasted so long given the "facts" they are presented with.

When a man betrayed him with a kiss and after all that he said that he could call down more than12 armies of angels to protect Him. Based on all the other miracles he did, what he said wasn't a fib. Captured isn't a word I'd use if you have an ace in a game but don't decide to use it.

He gave up his life and died for us.

In the old times when a person sinned, blood of an animal was needed to clean your sin. But it didn't clean the conscious. When Jesus was nailed to the cross and killed, He became the ultimate sacrifice that not only wiped away sin but a person's conscious.

When he rose from the dead he walked around for 40 days.

Hope that helps.

I just wish you would read the Bible before you ask a question like this one. Mark 8:31 And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. Also, in John 19, Pilate thought he had the power to either crusify Christ or not. Christ told him that he only had the power that was given to him from above. Even if you don't use those things Use this one: John 11:49-52 And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation; And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad. I guess you will have to find the rest for yourself. The Mesiah done all this out of Love for all us. "This is the love of God; not that we loved him, but that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8

As to how long he stayed on the earth after he had risen, it was 40 days. Acts 1:3 says that he was with them 40 days after he had risen, then He was carried up in a cloud. Pentacost was 10 days later. Pentacost is 50 days after Passover( the day that Christ had risen from the dead, also was the first day of the week(Sunday)).

I hope this answers your question, God bless.........

ok i am a Christian, i have known this ever since i was like 6. Jesus died for us so He could take away our sins, now you see if He never died He would still be on this planet today (because He is the human form of God, He was God in a human body and God can't die) Jesus could only take away our sins if he was in spirit, so he could live in our hearts and whenever we sin we could ask forgiveness from Him and He would purify our hearts. Now, before Jesus lived you had to be perfect to go to Heaven, you couldn't sin AT ALL! You see there was kind of a wall between you and God and the only way to break it down was to be perfect. Then Jesus came into the picture. He then became the door that replaced the wall between you and God so you didn't have to be perfect, but if you didn't ask for forgiveness the door would remain closed. But if you did, then it would remain open. Hope this helped! Oh and after the three days, He only remained on land for one more day just to tell everyone that He would be watching over them and tell them that they didn't have to be perfect anymore! :-)

Jesus did not die on a cross. He was unconcious. Noone dies on a cross in just 3 hours. He was removed from the tomb sometime during the night and his wounds were treated. Later he "appeared" to Mary (his wife) and then to some disciples on the road to Emmaus, and then to a large group of disciples. After that the stories start becoming unbeleiveable.

They say that Jesus stood on a hill top and went up to heaven and his disciples watched him as he floated up. For a human that is physically impossible, so I personally do not beleive that happened.

There are various legends of what happened after he was crucified. One legend says Jesus and his wife Mary went to France. Another legend says Jesus went to India.

You'll have to do your OWN research and find out what you believe. DO NOT just accept what others tell you. Thats not believing - thats being brainwashed.

Jesus was God's last sacrificial lamb for humans.

God once used sacrifices of Lambs to teach humans to slaughter animals without hesitation for protection (from preditors) and for potential food.

Man kept doing this, but man wasn't learning much about what God wanted.

God wanted something out of man and didn't get it. Man defied God and started doing his own thing his own way in defiance.

Even worse man assessed blame on others, like the woman or the snake.

God sent Jesus to try and put mankind on the right track with Godly miracles such as healing the sick, bringing life back to the dead (you never heard of CPR?), walking on water.

Finally coming back from the dead.

You have to admit that's a pretty good trick.

Everyone watches you die on a tree. They handle your body and put you in a tomb and know you're dead.

Three days later they see you walking around even talk to you.

Now, then, what else can you do but start to consider what God is trying to show you.

The rest is up to you.

Neither I, nor God nor Jesus or Christains can FORCE you to do anything.

YOU must do all the work yourself, with willfull intent. By free will. By choice.

The choice is yours. Never say you weren't told there was a Godly way and an un-godly way.

As with the laws of man, ignornace is not a viable excuse.

Jesus is about work. God's work. God's path. Jesus tells you and shows you a more Godly way to live.

Kenny,
We are told that HE could have called angels to free HIM if HE chose to do so. HE willingly gave HIMSELF as a sinless sacrifice for our sins. We are all sinful, yet HE died without any sin and arose from the grave. HE remained on the earth for 40 days walking and talking with many people. HE ascended into heaven in the presence of many people according to the scriptures. Have a great evening and a wonderful weekend!
Thanks 4 asking.

Because Jesus could have saved Himself and didn't. He stated in Scripture that no man can take His life unless He allows it. He did not defend Himself either.

The mission was to be a substitute for you and me and pay the wages of sin which = death. He paid in his Blood for you and me so that through Him we could be made righteous in God's eyes. Jesus is God in the Flesh. It is deep that is why you need faith to believe.

Did you know that Jesus prays for all believers? Awesome

The technical answer is based on Deuteronomy 19 as it is applies to Satan , God and Christ. That is why it is written that Christ didn't come to change the law but to fulfill the law
( utilize fully). God would not impose a law that he would not adhere to himself. This way nobody can say UNFAIR UNFAIR! I know this sounds like a lot of gibberish but to the deeper student it is vital.
