Be careful!!
kg refers to weight and cup refers to volume. If the recipe calls for 1kg of flour, your safest bet is to weigh out 1 kg or 2.2 lbs of flour. Do not try to use a conversion to cups...you will not be happy.

Well, for the flour, 1 kilogram of flour is the same as 35 oz - so 2 lbs 3 oz of flour. So measure by the bag for the flour. The 250 gr of sugar is the same as 1 cup of sugar. The 350 gr of shortening is the same as 1.5 cups. Good luck!

I'm in Italy making bread and had the same question. I just poured out 1kg of "00" flour and it was 7 cups. So the answer is 7 cups, unlike all the answers I read above.

Go buy a scale, find a different recipe, or travel to Europe where they actually make measuring pitchers that have weights measured out for you for different common ingredients.
