My cat has been having a foul smell coming from his right ear and it makes a squeeky noise. Also, there is big clumps of brownish-red goo that comes out of that ear when he shakes his head. What could this be?

Probably an ear infection, maybe ear mites, defiantly needs attention from a vet. If he contiues shaking his head you may have another very expensive problem. Cats and dogs who shake there heads can rupture blood vessels in there ears causing hematomas which require surgery and many bandage changes. You would do much better if you took your cat in ASAP and have this problem taken care of. Not to mention the discomfort you cat is in. I hope this helps.

Sounds like ear mites. Get a vet's diagnosis though.

To prevent re-infection:
Mix in a small glass bottle
1 part olive oil
1 part vit E oil
1 part sweet orange oil (optional)
1/2 part tea tree oil
1/2 part cedar oil
1/2 part lavendar oil

(My standard measure is a tablespoon, but you can use whatever)
Shake well before each use. Lightly moisten a cotton pad with the oil and wipe out your cat's ears, going down into the ear CAREFULLY as far as is comfortable for the cat. Do this once a month.

sounds like ear mites and possibly polyps in the cats ear. And now it has a yeast infection. You need to get the cat to a vet for help.

Get him to a vet, pronto. Your kitty may well have mites or an infection. My cat Lavender had this. It ended up to be a horrible case of mites, and he had to have half his ear taken off. That was a very severe case though and the vet said it isn't common to have to go to those lengths.

He most definitely has a bad ear infection. You ned to take him to the vet t have this treated - it will not go away by itself. Do this as soon as possible becuase your cat is in exquisite pain and the infection could spread to other vital organs. He needs powerful antibiotics.

your cat has ear mites. That yucky goo is the tip off. I think that Hartz has an ear mite removal ointment.
