Some cats are just weird. Maybe sing in another room?
True story:
There was once a cat that would sit by her master on his piano stool while he played piano for his singing students. The cat would enjoy the music, unless the singer went up to a high A, in which case the cat would put its paw over the singer's mouth!
Maybe she doesn't like r&b? Or maybe she's sensitive because she's pregnant. Or perhaps it's an unfamiliar sound? Or maybe she even thinks that your singing for her and is requesting another song?

ha ha ha ha ha... that is soooo funny. Your kitty did that for any number of reasons:

1. women's voices mimic cats' voices and the cat thought you swallowed another cat and it is meowing inside your throat

2. she wants to sleep and you were making such a racket with all that yowling

3. you were singing out of tune and she couldn't stand it anymore

4. she had to get you to shut up real quick becuase she didn't want to be blamed for the noise and didn't fancy having the neighbor throw a shoe at her again

5. she had to check that you were really OK becuase you sounded like you were in pain...

Woah! My kitten does this every time too, I don't get why. I do have a soprano voice, so maybe my pitches bother her, but she bit my lip as well! Maybe human singing is irritating...

Maybe she's telling you that you don't sing good. Cats go crazy about your voice.

Cats are funny like that... Maybe she thinks you're in pain when you sing! Perhaps her pregnancy is making her particularly sensitive to certain sounds... -See how she acts after her kittens are born. I bet she settles down right away.

well since she bit your lip sounds like she doesn't like your singing. you'd be suprised on how human like cats are, they can't talk so she's letting you know the only way she can. when my cat doesn't like something she opens her mouth up really weird and looks at you like she's really pissed off!
