Because it is just another label to feed with medication and make money off Like ADHD and so on

You would be better off buying the book Heal Your Body by Louise Hay and finding the root to your problems and eating your Liver & Kidney's up with Medication.

i do not know if it more common now, than in the past. a bi polar disorder is genetic and can run in whole families for generations. now, because our population is growing, we obviously have more people afflicted with a bi polar illness. also it is now more in the open that a lot of people are bi polar, and there is a lot more information , help , groups, support systems for this illness. in the past most of these people were probably hospitalized due to the fact there were not as many good medications then. bi polar is a real illness, and not a fad of common. people are not being diagnose with a bi polar illness because it is a fad of common, or drug companies are get tine rich. i know , because i worked with many bi polar people and my brother is bi polar. sorry i cant help you with an article, but i guess my experience of 30 years in psychiatry should speak for itself, and perhaps you could use this as an article as it is based on true experience both professional and personal, which is more than i can say for Milly, whose opinion is just a judgment, not an informed opinion

I found 2 articles on it for you. It says an estimated 4.3 percent of Americans suffer from bipolar disorder or its milder forms, far more than previous estimates which placed the number at about 1 percent, a new study finds. You can read the rest on them for yourself.

You can look up the article yourself here: http://www.redorbit.com/news/display?id=156881&source=r_health

And don't forget to do your research on bipolar here: http://www.nimh.nih.gov/publicat/bipolar.cfm#intro
