the purpose of our life is to give love.....BE love. It is in giving, not gathering, that we receive. That's why so many people are unhappy. We live in an unconscious, ego-driven, materialistic society. We compete for everything from money to God.

eighty% of humanity, the non secular persons, do no longer could ask the meaning of existence, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. however the rest people can no longer swallow non secular dogma, because of the fact there is not any evidence. no person can coach that there existence after dying, that persons are tortured or rewarded after existence or that there is invisible spirits working around. i've got come to 2 conclusions at the instant: a million. existence has no meaning 2. existence has a million meanings. First, there's a certainty that dying and annihilation awaits no longer in basic terms you, however the Earth commonly. it particularly is an astonomical certainty that our sunlight will supernova and go away the earth a burnt crisp, to no longer point out all the different extinction point activities around the corner. 2d, the million issues that provide us meaning are the fulfilling reviews we are able to conjure up throughout the quick era we are right here on earth, interior this type of the relationships we've with our little ones and persons, and the 'house household initiatives' varieties of purposes. What i advise by skill of that are the curing affliction, ending starvation, improving literacy, decreasing crime, combating conflict, helping different varieties of issues. So the significant's, we in basic terms have a brief meaning to existence, to decrease discomfort and enhance excitement, different than that each little thing is lost to oblivion. To be or to no longer be? "To be" is temporary and "to no longer be" is inevitable.....

You answered it yourself - so many people are unhappy because it is NOT our purpose to seek our own happiness. It is the pursuit of happiness that has generated more misery than anything else in this world.

U must be either a humanist or marxist or something like that:

Anyway I believe the purpose of life is to serve God in all that we do:

And if you beleive in evolution here's a thought:

"Would it not be strange if a universe without purpose accidentally created humans who are so obsessed with purpose?"

I will personally be content with joy.
I am happy a lot more then I used to be but it is not a requirement for living or even a goal I would seek.
IMHO.
Grace and Peace to you!

I would heartily disagree. The goal should be "holiness". The joy comes from achieving that.

happiness is the result of your actions.
the purpose of life is to identify and release your reactions (worry, fear, judgement) that keeps you away from your personal truth (honesty, integrity, confidence) = happiness

That's a statement not a question.

As for the question in your comment. I think it's because people always want more of everything.
