The da vinci story claims Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and they had a child. The catholic church refuses to beleive this - mainly because its not mentioned in the bible.

Just because its not mentioned does NOT mean it did not happen. They claim the bible as fact and if its not there then it did not happen.

Anyway, the church wanted a pure god with no sexual needs. Sex is bad - which makes women bad because they are only for sex and having babies. And you have to have sex if you want babies. So having babies is bad to.

So the pure god must not have sex and must not have any children - and so must not have a wife. This pure god must also have a pure mother - so the mother Mary now becomes a "perpetual virgin" (she had a baby was still a virgin before during and after the pregnancy).

Theres even talk of making St Anne (who was supposedly Marys mother) a perpetual virgin so the mother Mary can remain pure as well.

If you beleive all this - then you will beleive that I have found the cure for Aids.

The Da Vinci Code is a fiction murder mystery based on real biblical speculations revolving around the Divinity of Jesus, The Holy Grail, The ties to Paganism and the Knights Templar.

Dan Brown did alot of research on myths and actual evidence that supports the claims but by no means proves the claims he makes in his books. There are also alot of other interesting facts in the book like the Golden Ratio.

My mother is a Christian, she loved the book and even sent permission slips home so she could show the movie of it to her French Class. The book is rooted primarily in Paris, although partially in London and it has alot of French History and culture involved.

Da Vinci Code is a fictional story relating to real organizations in the history of the church but it twists who they really are or what they did. It's based on the painting "The Last Supper".
It's just a bogus story.

If you are a Christian like me, this movie will upset you terribly. The da vinci code is a movie where leonardo da vinci believed Jesus had a relationship with mary magdalene. But I believe this movie is stupid and wrong.

It's about the crazy adventures of Tom Hanks and his french sidekick in such fantastical places like art museums, giant mansions, and cathedral halls. Sounds interesting!

Actually, it's a decent book about puzzles, messages hidden in works of art, and secret religious organizations.
However, I personally found the puzzles a bit predictable and the main character rather 2-dimensional. He wasn't that fleshed out at all.
It's a good book though and I recommend it, if only to see how blown out of proportion the Christian community made this book seem. The one beef I have with it is that it's basically the same as "Holy Blood, Holy Grail," a book written some time ago about the same "controversial" topics. Dan Brown basically takes the points made in that book and and his own twist on them.
