today is the last day of the second trimester at school, the teachers give out awards, and i have had my heart set on one since they gave them out last term. my most very favorite teacher, gave it to this jerk. and my home ec teacher gave it to HER NIECE! i believe this is discrimination. but thats not what im asking. you see, im very sad and i need to know what i can do to keep this off my mind, but it always finds itself into my mind again, i cried in math, home ec, and orchestra because i didnt get it and was RUNNER UP! i worked so hard! i dont even want to try anymore!

I feel so bad for you. The disappointment must be horrible and I can understand that you feel sad. It will be on your mind for a while, but it will pass and life will go on - as it always does - no matter what happens. Be thankful you were runner up. At least you were noticed! That's the important thing here. Unfortunately, life isn't always fair, but please, don't give up on trying anymore........this is only one thing and you still have so much life ahead of you and the years will go by quickly and this incident will seem like nothing (a little pain of disappointment in your heart). The most important thing is to always do your best with everything and if it's something you want to win and don't win, at least you'll know in your heart you did your very best. I think it was great you made runner up!! HOORAY!!!!! and you're right - that probably wasn't fair what your home ec teacher did.

Omg that is discrimination. Totally.
Well I think to keep this off your mind, watch TV or read a happy book.
If you watch anime or read manga, that always keeps me from thinking about sad things.
Or you can just surf the internet or go have a day off with your friends. Go to the park or something, and just have fun with your friends.
Even better, push yourself very insanly hard on something that is your hobby. When I'm feeling really down, I push myself on my violin until I think I wear myself out.
I believe that you should have gotten at least one award, because that is just so not fair.
I think that you should keep trying, and don't give up, not until the very end. Don't be sad or anything...try to be happy!
Just keep thinking that you're actually better than those students, and don't think about the awards. I believe you actually won, not with awards, but in your heart.

HEY! you worked hard even if nobody notices you of all people know it. I would rather work hard at something and fail than be stupid and lazy and succeed.
