Let's face it: the best choral & organ music comes from compositions that were written for the church.

If we have less and less Christianity, who will step in to fill the vacuum left by the loss of church composers and performers?

Personally, I think the Jazz and Classical music has done an Excellent Job, over the church composers and performers.

Jazz and Classical Music to me, is very calming and peaceful, and does not have self-righteous lyrics in it, as does some of the religious music.

Love thinks maturely {1 Cor. 13:11), so if I have offended anyone, forgive me, more for your own peace of mind, than for mine.

N.H. Baritone - I always enjoy your questions, they are very intellectual and thought provoking. I do not know how to add you, as one of my favorites, but as soon as I do, you'll be the first one on my list.

This new system Yahoo has created is a little foreign to me, yet - in fact I have not even created an Avatar face for myself, 360 profile, etc. I need much more detailed information on how to do this, then I'll probably choose someone, or something humorous. I am a student of Buddhism, and have a sense of humor, which some people, do not see very often.
Do not care much about 10 points, only like to share myself with others; I'm an optimistic and extraverted individual.
Others may not always agree with the Optimistic part, but that's alright. I do not need the approval of others, to be who I really am.

Thanks for opportunity to answer your Excellent Question, and have a great weekend.

I'm in choir, so I love and respect all the Christian music I sing. Some of the best music is centered around Christianity. I know that there are some Christians who think atheists cringe at the word "God"--but we don't. Most of us don't even mind Christian music, we just don't want to listen to it all the time.

Choral music didn't originate with the church, it started outside of it because singing in church was forbidden.
