I wore a TShirt with a picture of Jesus with a bloody thorn crown around his head as he would look on the Crucifix. A Lady approached me and said I should have that TShirt burned and that its just as bad as walking around Naked in public. What I don't understand is why people look at me bad or make comments behind my back over a TShirt that is just representing the truth and Jesus Christs Crucifixion. I wanted to ask is it wrong to wear such a TShirt ?? If you'd like to see an image of the TShirt to get a better idea. Let me know I'll post a link to see the image. Why is it wrong ??

I understand everyone has their own opinions about God, Jesus, and Religious beliefs. But we should all live together in Peace no matter who or what our Religious beliefs are. And for those curious people ... copy and paste this link to view a picture of the image on my TShirt.

your basic freedom in this country is freedom of expression ,an of religion . Catholics in there beliefs have Jesus on the cross, most Protestants just have the cross without the figure of Jesus on it, bravo to you for expressing your love to god he knows it came from your heart and soul. that person should not cast stones less they be without sin. bravo to you for expressing your god given write, in some country's you would be lockup not here . bless you for expressing you self.

Umm, well first of all I think that lady was just a little bit crazy but according to your story it was just ONE person.
So why did you pluralize it and ask why PEOPLE (not 'person') are afraid and angry? I have never met anyone who acted like that so I cannot answer your question. Maybe next time that happens, instead of acting scared and running away, and then getting angry and posting on Y/A, you should just ask the person what is wrong with your shirt.

In my honest opinion though, I find it a bit much to wear your religious icons on your clothing. Or any icon for that matter- sports, acting, musical... It's just tacky, really.

And ask yourself this: What justice are you doing by wearing that shirt? Would you like it if I wore a shirt of J F Kennedy with a bullet hole in his head? It's a little disrespectful, because while you can admire a person for their life, it's low taste to portray that respect through their death.

It may be the truth, but so are the pictures of aborted babies people stand around with to protest. People in general don't like to see grotesque images like that. Had you worn a shirt with Jesus alive and healthy, I'm sure you would not have gotten such a reaction.

But you can wear whatever you want. That lady needs to mind her own business anyways.

Who is someone you respect greatly? A family member - like your grandmother? A person from the past - a former president or poet? If you saw someone with that persons' image on a tee-shirt, wouldn't you feel it was just a little disrespectful?

It's natural for many Christians to feel the same way, but they really shouldn't be angry about it - it's just an image, for all of that, and does no harm.

Sometimes people take it the wrong way. But look at it from both perspectives. You sound young, so I'll do this: I am an older man walking down the street.(Now most young people do not respect their elders nowadays.) I see you wearing this "T-shirt" of J.C. but I take it that your mocking religion. So I say "Take that shirt off and burn it." And I think you knew that the shirt would attract attention, but not from (As I said) Both perspectives. If your not ashamed then don't worry about it.

People may interpret the wearing of such a shirt as a statement of your support for rigidly fanatical beliefs which they feel are doing great harm to our civilization.

What is the point of your t-shirt? I would find a similar shirt, on any random person, a bit offensive, especially if the graphics were less than g-rated. Why must people make ridiculously broad statements with their clothing?

It's not wrong, and you have every right to wear that shirt.

People also have a right to opinionate and make suggestions.

This is what forms society. I recommend that if you're continuously hassled about it, explain to them why you're wearing it, but..

Please don't just tell people that it's the truth, though, as we not everybody shares your beliefs.

If you're threatened or anything, I suggest that you stop wearing it. Don't have to burn it.

I don't think it's wrong. It's just different people have different standard of what is right and what is wrong. That lady thought it was wrong to show that on a t-shirt while you and the people who made the shirt thought it was right.

You really think that, if Jesus showed up today, he'd like that shirt. Riiiiight. And if I am ever beaten half to death with a crowbar, I will want to see pictures of my bleeding, broken self everywhere.
