The real Book of Jasher is lost. The modern version is the equivalent of someone writing Genesis today without an original to copy.

There is no evidence to suggest that any of the modern version has been transcribed from the original.

Jasher was probably a part of the Apocrypha if I remember correctly.

The Jews didn't accept the Apocrypha as being in the Bible Canon, so if it is of any value at all it would be historical only.

Galatians warns about any other "Good News" "other than what we preached" would be accursed. Paul then repeats this.

The Apocrypha, Book of Mormon and probably others can be included in this list.

So, I suppose the best answer would be that the "book of jasher" was not inspired thus not to be inquired upon regarding anything to do with Biblical teachings.
