In my opinion the future is huge. However, it will be primarily in the automotive industry. Cars are becoming more heavily instrumented and computerized to improve performance in terms of handling and fuel consumption. Also luxury items such as satellite radio, DVD systems, heating/cooling seats, independent HVAC controls, etc, will all add to the complexity in designing and building cars into the future. There will need to be engineers to create these new systems as well as figure out how to fix them!
