Did you just see the TV programme that refuted the idea that global warming has man-made causes? Now I am confused.

Keep in mind that there are VERY powerful groups that want you to believe that Global Warming is a myth. The fossil fuel industry, car manufacturers, public utilities, to name a few, are pumping millions of dollars into PR for the purpose of confusing the public.

Lots of good articles on the subject on the National Geographic site if you'd like to see the other side of the argument

On the positive side, unless you have a car that gets over 40 mpg, flying produces less greenhouse gasses than driving does on medium to long trips(over 800 miles). Planes use a large amount of fuel on takeoff so the farther you go, the more efficient the trip is.

What was shown on TV last night was factually correct. What wasn't refuted was the fact that the earth is warming up (albeit very, very slightly).

However, can anyone tell us all what governments are doing to combat global warming except for increasing taxes and stealth taxes on fuel etc. when these aren't the cause?

The global warming arguements are falling apart at the seems as qualified scientists come out of the woodwork and shoot holes through the "consensus" arguments.

We'll be laughing at the global warming crowd for generations. It's too bad to, because the world has problems we need to solve. Global warming isn't one of them.

Well the recent internationally researched report said it's 90% chance that GW is man-made due to carbon. So that means there's a 10% chance of being wrong.

However you'll be betting a whole lot more than your house on this 9/1 shot if it doesn't come in...
