He's 10 years old, and about 60lbs. He's perfectly healthy, he's just not that interested in food. I've tried all sorts of different foods to find something that will help him gain weight, but he's just not a big eater. Is there anything I can do to pack some weight on him?

thanks for replies, just to add some additional info. I do give him a flintstones multivitamin daily, he does drink whole milk and I even give him protein shakes a few times a week. (the kind that I mix up with milk and ice cream). He eats/drinks all the stuff I give him, but i'm looking for something else, that maybe i've forgotten, because so far, it's not really making much of a difference. His metabolism is astronomical.

Relax... he will soon hit his pubescent growth spurt and eat you out of house and home.
Kids vary alot in their size and eating habits. As long as you offer him a variety of healthy foods, and allow him to eat until he's done, he will turn out healthy. Be sur ehe gets some physical activity each day, too!

Honestly, I think all the goverment-sponsored guides (food pyramid) and media hype about health have conscientious parents overly concerned about their kids. Just try to relax and enjoy playing with your son while he still wants to hang out with ya.... he'll be grown and out of the house before you know it!

If he's definitely healthy I think you should leave it alone. You will only make him feel bad about being small by obsessing about putting weight on him. Kids are so sensitive about this stuff. You should send the positive message that as long as someone's healthy their shape and size should be celebrated.

You can give him ensure but the kind for kids....like boost. Or have him drink breakfast drinks and a meal. He will think it is just like chocolate milk.

Maybe you should ask your son's doctor about any supplements he could take that could either increase his appetite, or invest in vitamins so his nutritional level at least stays high.
