Please do not say that medication helps depression I have seen what it does
It makes people far more worst then before they got the medication
The medication is the main problem with depressed people wanting to commit suicide.
Get real and stop using medication and face life we all have challenges and we face them.
Mind over Matter so look at what is the Matter ?

It is also suitable for people suffering from anxiety, but is unsuited to those with clinical depression, as a stand alone treatment, and at the very least, counselling is also required. Next time, include a link to a FREE site where instructions are available, possibly starting your own blog and putting in one or two meditative techniques, like the candle, combined with breathing exercises, or the bodily contraction and relaxation , in Yahoo; blogs, or Myspace; blogs, or www.blogspot.com See: www.healthyplace.com/communities/ (.com/communities/) and the blogs of Shan Eris at www.myspace.com (where Yoga Nidra is also included - no flexibility required, just a bed or comfortable chair - try it!).

Because all the good thoughts and meditation in the world can't change the fact that the chemicals in the brain are messed up.

Meditation, exercize and other healthy practices can help depression lift. If it's a
"normal" depression, it may even make it go away.

But if you have the medical disease depression you must have more help than meditation and prayer.

Different treatments work for different people. No universal treatment exists for mood disorders. In many cases, mood disorders, like depression have biological underpinnings, just like any other physical malady. Wouldn't it be simple if mood disorders or physical illnesses, for that matter, could be so easily and expediately remedied?? Nice suggestion, but not effective for all and doesn't take into account the most often complicated etiology of depression.

some people (particularly adolescent 'emos') with depression, believe it or not, WANT to be depressed. being depressed is one of their only forms of communication, and sympathy is felt more often than true happiness. so often, sympathy is turned into the main form of happiness in a way. subsequently, the subject tries to act depressed to get that sympathy they value so highly.
