I'm looking to buy a new camera, not a regular point a&shoot but not a professional camera. I want one that will have clear, professional looking pictures and easy to use. Anyone know of any nice ones that aren't worth a fortune?

The Fuji F20 is a remarkable performing camera for under $200. The 6Mp images are so clean that they rival the DSLRs. The Fujis (F20, F30, F31fd) are the ONLY compact cameras that take a clean ISO 400, very good ISO800 and even usable ISO1600 shot. If you want a very reasonably priced camer thats a little bigger- look at the fuji S6000. The difference between a 28-300mm zoom rather than a 36-432mm is worth it- at least for me. I use 28mm a lot more than I use anything over 200mm.

I have a couple of digital cameras here...one cheap and one about mid to high price...I find the cheap 3MP camera takes as nice a picture as the 6MP does. The cheap camera is a Vivitar 3MP. it takes a nice picture and only cost me about $200...that was a starter kit from Sears. I've had the camera now for about 3 years and it still works great....I think I might like it better than the 6 MP.

I go along fhotoace, but "professional looking pictures" is up to the photographer, not the camera. The best camera in the world, won't make you a good photographer.

I can make the best guitar in the world sound like real garbage, but my guitar teacher can make a $50 student guitar sound like the best guitar in the world. He's that good!
