I have a cat (Triscuit) who is around 5 years old. Over the past year, he has gotten into a few cat fights with the neighbour cats, and one pretty bad one. Lately we've noticed tiny patches of fur missing here and there, but we assumed they were from the cat fights. Now there's a patch on his chest about the size of a quarter and you can clearly see his skin. There is also a light-brownish-coloured dot in the middle of the bare patch. Does anyone know what could be wrong with him or what I should do??

You have to be very careful when you touch him. He may have ring worm which is highly contagious and can be transferred from animal to human and visa versa.

Take him to a vet to have this looked at, they can give him a shot to make it go away and his fur will come back.

If left un-treated the spots will only continue to get larger.

* Ringworm is not a typical worm, it is a fungus similar to Athlete's Foot. If you notice any itchy ring shaped spots on your body go to your local drug store and purchace Lotrimin cream (it is mainly for athletes foot), this will kill the fungus that causes the ring worm and the spots will heal.

I have a male cat probably about 3 years old he is what I call into everything well last fall 4 cats moved into the house across the alley and one of the cats(male)is comming into our yard and is fighting with my male cat who I am asuming-is protecting his territory needless to say he is missing fur all over the place one of his cheeks is missing fur he kind of looks lopsided but he is fine if he would just stop fighting I think its a male territory thing If your cat has had all of his shots updated I wouldnt worry but if you want to call the vet and ask you should!

Maybe he has lead poisoning. But do not assume that you can take fare of it, because it could be a fatal problem, or a little one. Whatever it is, go immediatly to a vet and have Triscuit checked. Good luck Triscuit!

Sounds like he may have either mange or ringworm. A vet can do a quick test and let you know for sure why he has patch of fur missing.

I would get him vet checked as it is possible that he has a skin infection or irritation, just to be on the safe side. They will probably take a skin scaping and look a it under the microscope.

First take him to the vet to be treated for a possible infection. It's going to be difficult, especially since he's already 5, but consider having him neutered.

my cat has those patches and the vet said it's an allergy. My cat is allergic to fleas, the vet also said to use baby benedryl 25mg every 12hrs and so far it's working

it could of been because of a fight. most likely not because of the fight itself but maybe it was a stray that had a skin problem. then your cat got whatever it was that the other cat got. take it to the vet to have it checked. it could be nothing or like others have mentions it could be fatal. hopefully its nothing but good luck.

Oh my God..I had the same problem with my cat. I set up a nanny cam and guess what!? My cat was being examined by a UFO guy. You know, those dudes with the big eyes and they look kind of sick, like they need some nutrition.

Anyway, what I did was hang some garlic around my cat's neck and put some crosses in the box where she sleeps. That did the trick.

I think those aliens are somehow connected with Satan and that's why the crosses worked.

Good luck.

He might have gotten dermatitis from the other cat or he has been biting at it. You should go and get him checked and don't be so foolish to let him get into fights with another cat.
