You didn't mention the kind of doctor that you went to, but if you told him everything that you mentioned, then this doctor must not schooled in mental health issues. If these things are constantly on your mind and it sounds like it is, my advice to you would be to go to a psychiatrist who is a medical doctor and they can identify with you and hopefully give you a diagnosis and some hlep. Do not and I repeat Do not put it off. This is nothing to be ashamed of but get to a qualified doctor. Hope this is helpful to you. Good Luck God Bless.

While I don't have a full history here in order to diagnose the condition, I'd say it sounds like Major Depression, Severe and not OCD or Hypochondriasis. Both of the symptoms you mentioned are what we call a morbid symptoms and when associated with depression, it generally means it's severe and possibly approaching psychotic intensity which does happen with depression. If you are currently on meds and being treated by a psychiatrist, be sure to mention these symptoms as you may benefit from anti-psychotic medication, even if only needed temporarily, in addition to an anti-depressant. If you are not currently in treatment, please contact a mental health clinic or private psychiatrist for help-this is beyond the standard depression that a PCP is qualified to treat and there is no need for you to suffer.

Well I have obsessive-compulsive disorder (ocd), an anxiety disorder where the person has repetitive thoughts known as obsessions that cause great fear and anxiety and typically the person feels the urge to perform a ritual (compulsion) to lessen the anxiety from the fear. I don't know if that is the case with you, but since this is really getting you down or whatnot, please do talk to a licensed therapist.

My ocd symptoms did manifest itself as fearing a dreadful disease or illness and along with ssri (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) antidepressant medication (for me, Prozac) and cognitive-behavioral therapy (cbt) which includes 'exposure therapy'. I'd seen a clinical psychologist who specialized in treating those with anxiety disorders in which she had quite a few patients with ocd. Things can and will get better! Please do seek treatment as to improve your quality of life by 10 miles :)

hi tittle, God is willing to forgive you for anything that you have done. Thats what his son died for. But he does want you to be a better person ofcourse. And anxiety is a symptom of worry. The more you worry the more anxiety and panic you will have.

You have the symptoms of being a hypochondriac. I would seek a second opinion (write it all down) and ask to be referred to someone specialising in the treatment of people with such problems.

Sounds to me like you are more paranoid than depressed. Maybe a panic disorder?
