There is no point in helping them. Whatever you give them will be snatched away by adults who will spend all the money on drinks or drugs or whatever. Poverty cannot be eliminated, and they won't have the mentality to help others, because their hard life will have taught them to care only about themselves.

You could choose an organization that helps out kids. Or during the year you could collect clothes, toys, school supplies, tooth brushes, little things that kids in our community don't want but it could be helpful to other ones, take them to the local orphanage. Be a mentor to any of those kids, volunteer in the shelter. There are so many ways to help, the difficult part is finding people that actually care for them and do want to make a difference. If you ever find something local let me know, my kids, friends and I would love to help you out!. Good luck!

My mother who visited India almost 2 years ago has said the government is putting an end to that by establishing programs to help get people off the streets from begging especially when tourists come over.

Yes I really want to help. I mean how would you feel if you were those children. That is why I want to start a non-profit organization called," Cure and Care" It will help not just children, but adults too. But I,m not 18 and I can't wait until I am. Posting flyers up asking for donations is what I'm going to do. I hope people cooparate with this so we can help those who are in need.

Hello,

Great question. I am running a website listing orphanages. I have in database over 300 orphanages listed from 70 countries.

If one of you would like to volunteer/give help for an orphanage check out our website and choose to offer your help to the one you want.

Please check out the below source for link.

I don't know enough about the culture to give a qualified answer in harmony with it, but I believe that what you see is the result of what is missing, and that the answer is hidden within what is seen.

Family is universal. And the spirit of family can be universal throughout India with the spirit of "love your neighbor as you love yourself".

Everyone of India can become like one spiritual family, and with this spirit, a stranger becomes family, and a homeless child has many mothers, sisters, brothers, uncles, aunts, cousins, etc..

So that with this spirit, everyone has something that another needs. So that I help you to help someone else to help me to help you. If everyone is focused on increasing others, everyone is increased, and the scarce resources that are hoarded and scattered abroad, becomes abundant resources that are gathered from others to be given to others.

If everyone seeks to increase others, they will be increased by others to give again.

Teach those hungry children, ideas on ways that they can voluntarily increase others through the act of giving service, and you will see that those they bless, will begin to love them as their own.

Like the hungry child who is fed by the lonely old lady who has something extra to give because the child treated her like she was his mother; and in her heart, she began to love him like a son; all because the child gave the gift of service by continuously doing things for her that made her life better and did not ask for anything in return. The child only accepted what she offered in gratitude; so that by giving, the child received what he needed - a hot meal, a place to sleep, and love.

I think we can help them donating through churchs or religious organizations, or ohther charities.
But basically the city or national government should be more actively involved in the activity to impove their lives .
