at the person driving the car

then how can soldiers justify for them killing others by calling it war. cuz its their choice to put themselves in that situation, they have thrown themselves in the middle of a proverbial road, just like if i were to come into your front yard waving a gun around i could pretty much expect to get shot at, and in my mind that wouldnt make it right for me to kill you, so on a moral stand point how is a soldier that Wilfully puts himself in that kind of situation any better than a murderer

You've got it. It isn't self defense if it's a deliberate choice. There's no draft, the people fighting are choosing to do it, and by making that choice they are choosing to kill. They have chosen to deliberately take the lives of other human beings, and that is murder.

No, any sane person would think of jumping away from the car speeding toward them instead of pulling out a gun, taking aim and shooting at the driver.

I agree, where you say they chose to place themselves in that position, but it is a different story altogether when you are actually surrounded by people intent on killing you. Your whole sense of reality changes to that of sheer survival, because no one really wants to die. The only way you can live in positions such as that are to kill first.
Justifying why soldiers have the right to kill people in war is not simple, when you look at the larger picture.

Not unless the person had the intention of killing you: And why don't you just get out of the way?

The soldiers have the right, because if they did not defend themselves then one army would take over the world. This is to prevent a one world power. God gave the Isrealites the right to kill their enemies to save their land...

And if you are standing in the middle and you shoot the person, then they have no way to steer it off and it could hit you anyway:

So you're saying that if I snuck into your house at night and killed someone in your family that it would be out of line for you to come to my house and either arrest me so that I would go to jail for the rest of my life, or shoot me.

Even in biblical times the christians regularly went to war to protect a way of life.

If you feel that it's really never justified to kill someone, don't join the military. That right is what those soldiers are out there protecting, so maybe you should at the very least thank them.

Your analogy is perfect, except for one thing.

You forgot to mention the crowd of people in the funeral procession marching down the street behind the soldier.

That's who the guy in the car is really trying to run over and the soldier is perfectly justified in standing in the way and stopping him.

I supose he wouldn't be any different.
But for some reason men feel if someone that have decided is smarter than everybody else and can tell people what to do tells them to kill that makes it ok.
Such as pharoah's, Emperors, hitlers and that emperor of japan who asked so many young boys to commit sucide to honor him. Now to ask you a question.
If someone elected to put those men in harms way by asking them to go there and fight does he carry a moral responsibility for the killings?

Thats a poor analogy. The soldiers are sent to fight by their government, they don't want to be there. They don't want to kill. Even if they don't agree with the war they are still expected to follow orders and do their duty.

Don't blame the soldiers, blame the government.

No, cause you're an idiot in the middle of the road. If you were in your living room, then the driver is the idiot driving a car in your living room. Then you can use the tiny bullet to stop the 4000 lb car.

Actually moron, The UN took away the rights of the car owner.
So since your Government stepped in and "Voted" for your right to shoot said person. You are in all accounts allowed to shoot depending on your present orders. If you commanding officer tells you you have to shoot all drivers! since You are "Government" property you must act accordingly.
