Do you believe it's ever morally acceptable to seek revenge for it's own sake? If someone did you wrong would you try to make them pay for it?

Generally no, if getting back at the person is the only reason then that's not good enough. However often you know people will do it again if they're allowed to get away with it... that's what the law is trying to do too, not just 'making people pay' but also making them stop and think so there's no next time... that is a good thing, preventing others from suffering the same thing. Still don't *ever* take the law into your own hands and do violence to people; go to law enforcement, let them take care of it, and if that's not possible warn others or something (for example if it's a cheater). Doing violence in return makes you just as bad as they.

Some people's actions are just so bad that sometimes revenge is a necessary payback... Yes ! In some cases it is even morally acceptable.
I have gotten revenge very few times in my life...but those few times it was justice served.

No it is called Karma.. What goes around comes around. It works both ways and seeking revenge will only bring more negative things in your life

It depends on what they did! If someone did something to just me, I can let it go most of the time, but if someone did something to one of my kids, my husband, or my parents, then that's different, I have a hard time letting that go. I'm very protective of my family. I'm also quick tempered & if I don't take a few minutes to calm down before I react, then I usually end up regretting it.

I agree with Sherrie; it depends on what they did and who they did it to. For example, my ex hub is still alive and unscathed;0) yet anyone who messes with my family - kids especially will regret what they did. It also depends on if you think they will continue.

No, I normally convince myself not to do it because it won't help things.
