Because of the rum fairy. To keep the rum fairy happy (and thus from drinking your rum) you must light a Pall Mall Cigarette and put it out in a shot of said rum. Place the offering in front of a picture of Hunter S. Thompson and/or a copy of the Rum Diaries. This will appease the rum fairy greatly and she will leave your bottle alone.

you have to stop inviting your friends,man. tell them they each have to bring a bottle to your house. it might be that you were drinking in your sleep and didn't realized it.
