Exercising in the gym is good and lifting heavy weight helps you gain muscle( but dont over do it). you probrably might lose fat and gain muscle if you do just that and eat healthy also. if you are male then you might have a better chance of gaining muscle because of the testosterone.

diet and excercise. Do cardio to lose the fat and weight train to build muscle. You can do cardio every day, but weight train every other day. That gives your muscles a chance to rebuild from the stress of the weights. The formula is that simple.

Well you have to burn more calories than you consume. But you also need to use your muscles so your body only breaks down the fat. Best way to do that is to alternate between cardio and weights.

Go to the gym and do strength training circuit.
Use resistance bands at home.
Do the strength training every other day 3-4 times a week.
Get some whey protien powder and start drinking that also as you train.

Aerobics and weight training plan. Do more reps with lighter weights for longer, leaner muscle or fewer reps with a lot more weight for "bulkier" muscles.

Do aerobics every day and do alternate days for specific muscle groups/areas of the body for weights.
