There has been a rash of questions that have the general feeling that so many Christians are threatened by the presence of Atheists on R&S. Why? Why are you more threatened by the atheists than the pagans, or the muslims? If you know God loves you, then why the fear?

All of a sudden, the "why are atheists here" people don't have much to say.

I'm a pagan and I'm wondering why the persecution card keeps getting pulled tonight. Did some atheist hit a nerve?

Generally speaking, people fear what they don't understand. For some, people whose religion was the center of their life and were taught only one way believe their way is the only way and to see something different; outside their box, so to say, its alarming and somewhat discomforting to them. In all honesty, I was raised Catholic, I consider myself a spiritualist, and while I have a deep, loving belief in God, I respect those out there who'd much rather believe in science, evolution, atheism just as I'd respect people of different religious sects. I disagree with fundamentalist christians who try to shove their ways down EVERYONE's throats, but there are radical atheist groups who do the same and actually put down people who follow religion/believe in God. Basically everyone has the right to his or her own beliefs, and whether they agree or disagree (better if people would learn to AGREE TO DISAGREE, rather than fight), it doesn't change the other person. No one should fear anybody else, so long as people learn to respect one another. Respect is the key here.

I don't feel threatened by atheists. . .why should I? Just because two people don't agree with each other's viewpoint, that's no reason to hate or fear each other. If we can hold a calm, civil conversation, we can come a lot closer to understanding the other person's ideas than when the insults and taunts start flying.

Like the Bible says, "Perfect love casteth out fear." God loves all of us, and I'm secure in His love.

I'm not threatened by atheists or anyone else for that matter. People are threatened when they are fearful of something or just generally insecure

Not threatened at all. Pretty much I overlook what most say to find the ones that truly are looking for the truth.

the only explanation why they use hell as a skill of turning atheists into Christians is via the fact there's no longer the rest for them to apply as a pushing purpose. worry is the only element they are able to apply because of the fact they haven't any actual evidence that god does exists.

where is this question heading? if your a bible believing christian, you know this answer. assuming that you need our opinion, I'm not threatened by no being. atheism, paganism or whatever. if you believe in the unified command of Christ, ure good to go. how about using what god gives us. one of our 1st commands is to "mission" to our own peeps. spread the word.

As a Christian, the prominence of Atheists and other beliefs dominating the world is prophesied in the Bible. Atheists will kill all false relgion and the one true one before the literal last day. True Christians are waiting to be attacked, a lot worse than the corny attacks in this site. So enjoy it while you can.

Why are you being so judgemental and grouping everyone together? Personally, I am Christian and my very best friend of 25+ years is an athiest. It really doesn't make a difference to us. It actually is a source of joking sometimes! :)
