A Religion is defined as a Group of People {no matter how large or small) which has belief in a Creator God.

Atheism, as well as certain Philosophy's of Life, such as Buddhism, does not fit this description/definition.

Hinduism has a creator God {Brahma), Judaism has a creator God {YHWH),
Christianity's creator God = {Jesus),
Islam's creator God = {Allah),
Jehovah's Witnesses = {Jehovah),
and so on, with all the religions of the world.
Didn't mean to offend anyone, sorry if I left your religion out.

Everyone must find his own path to lesson, or ends one's suffering in life, and to acquire peace of mind, and Happiness.
Some find this in Hinduism, some in Judaism, some in Islam, some in Christianity, some through Buddhism, and some through an Atheistic, or Agnostic, or Humanistic way of life for themselves.

*What is most important is that we mutually respect the free will of one another - by doing so we'll live with a guilt-free conscience; it will keep us from becoming self-righteous, and lastly it will bring us closer to acquiring peace of mind.

Thank You for giving me the opportunity to answer your Excellent question, and have an great coming weekend.

No.

Atheism is a belief based on faith. It is not possible to disprove the existence of god. Atheists believe that god does not exist as a matter of faith.

On the other hand, Atheists don't, as a group, believe in anything else. It would be like asking if Theism is a religion. In both cases it is just one belief. Religions are defined by a group of beliefs. One could say that christianity is a religion or that protestantism is a religion or that baptists are a religion or that . . . evangelical, fundamentalist, snake-handling baptists are a religion. In each case you are defining a group of beliefs and the more beliefs you define the smaller the religion becomes.

There are no similar breakdowns for Atheists because there are no organized religious organizations which define beliefs for Atheists. So no, Atheism is not a religion.

Agnosticism is the rejection of religion. Some Atheists actually do meet in groups similar to churches, but I wouldn't say it's a religion.

Not to decide is to have made a decision.

Not believing is a belief so atheists have a religious belief that they commonly call the absence of belief. This is an inaccurate description and totally illogical.

The absence of belief would require that no belief exists concerning religion. Since atheists do have a belief, the belief that God or Gods do not exist they have a religious belief and therefore a religion.

Atheists have made a decision not to believe in God or Gods, that is a decision and a religious belief.

yes. in this definition of "religious", the "ultimate reality" is that there is no deity.

1: relating to or manifesting faithful devotion to an acknowledged ultimate reality or deity

fact is, say religion is the color green.
that would make atheism white, the abscence of color.

white is still a color.

furthermore, there are subdivisions of religions of atheists.

(unitarian universalism in christianity?)

For the millionth time, NO.
Atheism is the LACK of religion, hence the A- prefix. Putting an A- in front of a word means something is missing, e.g., asymmetry means lacking symmetry. Atheists have no supernatural beliefs (true atheists, at any rate). Please look it up in a dictionary.

No. Why? Well, how about because the Govt refuses to allow us tax exempt status, because of the very fact that we ARENT a religion. Also, beccause we are not organized. Also, we dont all get together and worship nothing... Good enough explanation?
