I have a bird with a broken blood feather that was pulled and he bled quite a bit this afternoon. Quick stop was applied on it, and the bleeding has stopped. I'm just worried about the poor little guy

Depends on what type of parakeet, but about 10% of a birds body weight represents the total blood volume.

I don't know how much blood is in a parakeet but I do know you did the right thing in applying pressure to the bleeding area.
It does not take much for a parakeet to die from blood loss. However, if he has stopped bleeding and is eating and behaving normally, he is probably fine.

yeah, for future emergencies you should keep flour near your bird's cage, or at least have it ready for easy access. After my budgie had a similar accident i did a little research and i read somwhere that if budgies lose 13-15 drops of blood it can be fatal. tonight just make sure and check on him during the night to make sure he doesn't reopen his injury, and maybe take him to the vet in the morning, or monday if he doesn't seem to be regaining his strength

Make sure that he has pleanty of food and water. Keep him calm and in his cage to recover for a few days.

In the future, you will find that corn starch or flour will work faster than quick stop, it is also better for them. Quick stop is for nails only, it should never be used on skin unless you don't have a choice.
