God has nothing to do with it. The recession of the moon is due to friction of ocean tides on the earth, which slow down the earth's rotation slightly. SInce angular momentum is conserved, the moon acquires more momentum and goes into a larger orbit.

The universe is not perfect, but it is very finely tuned. (if one part in 10^10^26 is off then it never would have expanded or it would have expanded so quickly that there would be nothing heaver than helium). The fact that the moon is *only* moving away 1 inch a year is a good example of that. If it were too close it would have slammed into the earth, no mankind. If it weren't there the rotation of the earth would be too fast to support human life as we know it.

Eventually the moon will go spinning off into space, but not until mankind is long gone (whatever causes it)

How about this,, we are part in a spherical arm (like pinwheel) and the gastronomical evidence has no information that up really is up and not down
But we know it has has changed many times + to - to - to +. But I think - the earth as we know it is not flat and that put some dudes in jail a few years back. Think careful less than 1k.

A comet and/or meteor shower swept through our solar system at the time of Noah's flood.

This not only broke the ice shield that was over our atmosphere (it collected on our poles causing the ice age - ice at -300F is magnetic. That is why the ice age centered on the magnetic poles and not the axis. This weight caused the earth to warble), by also marked the moon's surface and has given the moon a push that is still moving it away from the earth (if evolution was true, the moon would have been rolling on the earth's surface several billion years ago).

Interesting. Could this be a characteristic
of an expanding universe?
Why would you
see that as an imperfection?

God is in control. He did not make this place to be our final destination. Also free will cause a lot of damage to this place. God allows a lot of things we do not understand.
