Regardless of whether they are underage, or not, I would put them into Teen Challenge, and force them to stay there, until they were cleaned up, and when they got out, I would have strict rules and guidelines that they would have to follow. I would also find out who the punks are that they have been hanging around with and make sure that those persons were nowhere near when my child came home.

I gave all my children a lecture and they know I'm serious. If they want to hang out with trash, act like trash, they will be treated like trash. I'm not one who would send an addict buying drugs illegally to a doctor/ shrink who is only going to get them drugs legally. They know if they decide to drink and get caught they will be left in jail, I WILL NOT bail them out. If they do drugs... they know that not only will their mother send them to the hospital, but I would come back and beat them with in an inch of their life sending them back in. I would track down the person who got it for them and they would seize to exist. I will not let my children throw away their life because some other idiot is doing it.

There are times when something is a parent's fault and others where it is not. Too many posts have parents talking about how they treat their children and people, basically adults. They are children and should be treated as children. Therapy is for the weak who cannot or will not take ownership of the situation or grasp control. You have to decide if you are going to be a parent or not. There is no middle ground.

Just look at all of those saying they would send the child to somebody else. Boarding school, military school, camp, counseling, etc... let somebody else deal with the problem why should I. Parenting isn't easy and you have to deal with the problems and not pawn them off onto somebody else.

Everything in my power. Rehab, police, whatever it took. The addiction rate for meth use at the six month mark is 93%, and the younger someone starts drinking the higher the probability they will become and alcoholic.

Here's a site on meth: http://www.facesofmeth.com/
And one for Alcoholics Anonymous: http://www.aa.org/?Media=PlayFlash
And here's one for family member of addicts: http://www.al-anon.alateen.org/

And looking at your profile I hope that you're not talking about yourself. You're very young with your whole life in front of you. Get help if you need it. And definitely look at the faces of meth website and see what that crap does to people.

I would drive there butt right to a live in rehab for whatever amount of time it takes to get better. This way at least he will learn why he is using in the first place and deal with whatever it is he is stuffing down or trying not to feel. There usually is a reason for someone to turn to drugs n he will learn all this in rehab.Good luck n hope it all works out.

i'm 21 and characteristic in no way been into alcohol. i have tried some sips of diverse issues, and do exactly not like the flavor. I agree, i imagine human beings act ridiculous even as they drink, and to do it underage is only stupid. human beings favor to observe their babies more suitable positive, and practice them that eating isn't a activity.

Drinking is not the same thing...circumstances would dictate the action.

Meth...instant detox and rehab. Possibly military school or boarding school outside the country.

I would be crushed. That's such an addictive drug, and it possesses the people who use it. The alcohol just compliments it, and not in a good way. You might as well start searching for an interventionist, because this one won't be easy.

Talk to your child. Ask them why they are doing what they are doing. My best friend is addicted to meth and she is getting worse with every passing day. You need to get him into drug rehab for the drugs and alcohol. You need to talk to them and tell them that you love them and you don't want to lose them. Let them know that what they are doing can possibly kill them. Hopefully they will be willing to get help. good luck

I'd get the kid in with an alcohol counselor and have a drug evaluation done....and if there is a child at risk program in your area, get the kid in it quick. Other than that...get the kid a job or a volunteer sort of job that will keep them busy.

Get the child into a rehabilitation facility or contact his/her primary care provider for referrals.
