My girlfriend and I are getting married in the UK in July. We are planning on giving our mothers a gift during the day.

As my girlfriend's mother is from Canada, presenting flowers to her is not a good idea because she would not be able to take them home.

Can anyone give us ideas as to what to get each of them ?

We were thinking something that is easily transportable to Canada, but were unsure what to get.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

GW

I saw the cutest idea for a mother's gift the other day and it was something orginial. Get a personalized two-framed picture frame the one that has one on the left and one on the right. On the left side put a pic of you two when you were younger (A picture shop can help you merge the two pictures of each of you when you were small) and a NOW pic of the two of you together. Mothers melt when they see a pic of their little one next to a pic of their little one all grown up. I wish I thought of this for my mother and mother-in-law. This is a good pair up with a nice necklace/bracelet that can be worn to the wedding. You can also look at great ideas on the Things Remembered website. Good Luck!!

How about an engraved picture frame with your and your fiance's names and your wedding date on it? Your fiance's mom can then place a photo of the two of you on your wedding day in the frame and it will always be a special reminder!

If you'd rather do something more expensive, you can get a piece of jewelry with a stone that matches the colors from your wedding and each time she wears it she can think of your wedding day.

You could also get her a gift certificate for a spa near her house to get a post-wedding de-stress and enjoy herself pampering day!

Congrats!

What about a special spa day before the wedding? Like massages and nail/toes done for the wedding? Or a small makeover including makeup? This would be something special that you wouldn't have to worry about sending them home with. Good luck and congratulations!

A Tiffany Stock certificate! This gift is good, because:
1. It will last a long time
2. It's a cheap gift
3. And you have the time....it takes 6-8 weeks to get the certificate.
Besides they can frame it and everytime they see it, they will remember you two!!

You can find great personalized momento boxes. Small trinket boxes are easily transported and you can personalize it with her initials and your wedding date. You can also get her a locket, something she can wear home. You can personalize those too. A picture frame with a picture of the two of you in it. A small mantle clock with an engraved plate on it that has a message on it. Try going to www.thingsremebered.com. Lots of ideas.

maybe a charm bracelet with different charms that have special meaning between you guys and your mom so if you baked a lot when you were little then you might put a mixing spoon or if she made your clothing a spool of thread etc and then a note with it explaining why each charm is special to you and thanking her for those times! and then have each of you give the other mom one that's from you like a heart one or something! its easy to pack and it has special meaning good luck!

I got my mom and mother in law charm bracelets that had each of their kids' names engraved on it (and their significant others). They looooove it and my mom is getting ready to add another name to her bracelet. They are pretty inexpensive and you can get them in gold or silver. I ordered them online.
