Well, the best thing to do is think logically. You want something you can snack on while driving (mostly finger foods), but doesn't leave your hands messy. I think you should take Tostitos chips (the round ones would be easiest to snack on), Twizzlers, Pringles, and things of the like. If you want things that are healthier, you can cut up some veggies and put them in little baggies, like cucumbers, carrots, or some celery with peanut butter. Think things that will keep your energy up.
As for drinks, water is a definite. It will keep you hydrated. Otherwise, look at cans of your favorite sodas. Even though cans might be easier to spill, they're a little safer since you don't have to take off the cap every time you want some. Juice can be okay, but if you spill it it's a little sticky on your hands.
Have a great trip! Hope you're going somewhere fun! :-)

I have been from State to State in a car for my whole life! I've gone from New York to Pennsylvania, New York to Virginia, Texas to Califronia, and from Maine to Michigan! All in a car at different ages. What I have done is i made sure that i brought a large bag of Lays Sour Cream & Onion Chips, or UTZ regular cause their nice and thick, wont break as eaisly.I Would bring one large bad for the trip itself, and a small bag right next to me for snaking while in the car. I also brought a water bottle, next to me, I froze itabout and hour before-or less, cause I like it to not be completly frozen, but just enough where it will stay cold for the entire time. Be carefun though, cause water will make you have to use the bathroom a whole lot, so drink responsively!
I also brought some Bachman's Pretzle rods, the largest ones.Cookies: Either Chips A'hoy or Orieoos(However these things are spelled!). Sometimed Doritos, Gold Fish by Preperage Farm, Milano Cookies, popcorn. Soda: Sprite or Sierra Mist, or Ginger Ale. If you want to bring Apple Juice or Grape juice. Just to give you some options on food and drink.
Candy: Chocolate, Definetly bring Hersheys or Lindt-they rock! For like lolliepops and stuff, brink like taffy, sour patches, or mints-ie: tick tacks and life savers.
With these foods, you should be fine, trust me the choice is yours, I've been on soo many car drips that I know exactly what to bring.

OK tostie with peanut butter cracker packets,or the Cheddar with Pb,they also have variety packs, boost chocolate or your fav ,,,meal replacement drinks in case u get lost and cant find somewhere to eat,or u can keep on going for a bit usually found near the diet drinks, chips ,fruit like bananas, apples, grapes, water, drinks in the squeeze style bottles with the cap you suck on and then u smash it down, meat sticks, cheese sticks. i avoid to many candy type snacks because they make u buzz then git tired and they melt, and get squished in the car, good luck

i would make iced green tea and store it in a thermos or other portable drink container. i would make chex mix and rice crispy squares, buy beef jerky and corn nuts. i would also cut up fruit into little ziploc bags to munch on. i will assume you are packing all this into a cooler. maybe also make a few sandwiches and of course bring potato chips or pretzels and bottled water with those crystal light single juice mixes for your water.

i like to make my own "trail mix" with dried fruits, nuts and pretzels. beware of bringing anything carbonated on an airplane since the area where your luggage is isn't "pressurized" or whatever...it could explode in your suitcase which is a MAJOR vacation bummer!!

take stuff that doesn't need to be refrigerated and is individually packaged. Try some healthy stuff like dried fruit, nuts and vitamin water and add some unhealthy stuff like pringles, soda and candy bars.

Trail mix from Whole Foods or Trader Joes (will give you energy and fill you up without making you sick), bottled water and fresh (not 'from concentrate') juice. Take water too.
