like creationists, evolutionists, you cant just all accept one side of the debate, when nobody knows or can prove the real answer.
manmade global warming vs natural process, do you just accept what the newspapers tell you?
why dont people let people argue their case and believe what they want?

Yes God gave us a beautiful brain and placed it in our heads.
I don't think God meant for us to stick that head in the sand.

There are such things as sound arguments and unsound arguments. It's important to test the soundness of an argument by throwing counter arguments at it. Part of the deal however is that contrarians must expect to be ridiculed. It's not reasonable to respect everyone's viewpoint as equally valid. That's anti-intellectual. Occassionally they come up with an argument that is more sound than the orthodox view but more often than not they fail to impress.

We need to support one side if the evidence backs it up.
Evolution and human contribution to global warming have the evidence on their side. We just can exclude other ideas. If nothing else, things like creationism are good for a laugh.

It is very important for opposing views be heard because no one person or group has the answer to everything.
