If there is no God (and I am afraid there probably not), then could humanity not ascend to the open position?

Humans are the highest intelligence on earth and have left earth and erected space stations for living outside of earth. Many kooks look for a superior alien intelligence propelled by the same anxiety that makes religious people invent religions.

Maybe we are it, the cream of the crop, and if so, why be shy about it! If one day, the majority of humanity didnt make such vodoo of the idea that "man is the highest" then we could more boldly endeavor to fit the bill, and become the next best thing, or who knows...

Can man create heaven on earth? Perpetuate his species eternally? Widen life-spans to the degree that death is always a choice and never a fate?

Only religious-lunes say no....Im open to the possiblities...

You are absolutely correct! The concept of god is a method of control and is probably the way aliens keep us from believing thing that keep us away from special powers and technology that only science-only believers can get! I'm being serious here. Don't bow down to something you don't know exists. Every religious person is restrained mentally and therefore less powerful than the god idea, and the opposite for people like us who know we are the most powerful people.

well i think religion was used to control the masses and is still very successful today
as for the god part we are the gods of planet earth we are the most superior species we can do almost anything even create new species travel in space reach the outer limit of the planet the only thing that stops us is the non unity which made us so powerful in the first place and the interference of religion in science the only bad thing in living for ever is over
population so in a sense wars illness and death are
necessary not only to keep the earth uncrowded but also for the human race to become stronger through evolution
great question but i think you will get attacked by religious people for this , these hypocrites

Can man create heaven on earth? The short answer is yes, I think that it is perfectly within human capacity to create living situations in which hunger and homelessness is absent and disease is practically unheard of.

The question is why haven't we. The answer is, because human beings come with human limitations. Are there countries in which everyone is willing to make sure that everyone else is okay? To make sure that everyone has good health? That no one is starving, or being cheated or victimized in any way? Where people don't make money by cheating or victimizing others? The answer is NO. As long as we don't have that capacity the answer ultimately is NO. We don't have the mentality to support a "heaven on earth" sort of place.

We Buddhists believe in a realm called the deva realm, which is described something like the realm of the gods/goddesses of the Greco-Roman pantheons... only they're not omnipotent like some define "god". Once their good karma (that got them there) burns off, if they haven't cultivated an enlightened mind and only burned their good karma, then they'll immediately take rebirth in a hell realm... and I suppose you might ask why?

Because an untrained (in Buddhist teachings and such) mind doesn't realize that we generally tend to cling and attach to things that we THINK will make us happy and bring us pleasure and will do just about anything to KEEP it there... unfortunately such a thing doesn't exist (inherent pleasure) therefore the mind, in that state after their good karma burns off winds up grasping at straws, so to speak...

That's the best way I can explain it in such a small spot. Hope it helps some.

Being of a bohemian mindset, i think people could have the potential to have self belief despite they pick, and voice their ideals without effect whether you think in God or no longer... yet now I also have a question: in case you went trekking interior the woods and got here upon a intense-high quality sparkling nicely stored cottage stocked with meals, could you think of the cottage have been given there by skill of twist of fate? Or could you think of the cottage "progressed" from the rocks and airborne dirt and dirt on floor right into a house? No somebody had to construct it and grant it with meals. Or if I in simple terms took a pair of gears and steel and tied them to a granade and threw it interior the air, could the "bang" produce a rolex? No, on account which you don't get order and precision from chaos. some interior the medical community are keen to think approximately the assumption of sensible layout because of the fact there is evidence of sensible layout. Now whether you pick to place faith in a bang of chaos that produces order, or in evolution in spite of the certainty that it particularly is been a protracted time and not something or no person else seems to be like evolving...any...extra... Or despite you pick to have self belief, it is your agency. yet i do no longer think of it particularly is honest to assert that persons who've faith haven't any evidence for what they suspect in.

i think what your asking is by religion do we stop trying to better ourselves, because according to the bible, all people sin and we just can help it. i think your right on some level that religion allows us to accept our faults perhaps a little too much. i do believe without it we would feel the need to improve in more areas of ourselves, such as our understanding of the universe. our desire for sectarian violence would hopefully quell slightly. but that is not the only barrier that mankind must overcome.

If there is no God then we are doomed to exinction like every other species.

History has shown that the more technologically advanced we get the more destructive we get. For that to happen, evil would have to "evolve" out of human behavior. Good luck putting your faith in that!!!

There is only One God, but formalized religions prevent people from knowing Him and His ways.
