Dude.......you are the one who needs the help. And if you don't need help, then help your friend by getting her to a real doctor.

Why on earth did you just up and figure that a "Wiccan" wold be able to help her?

Regards,

Chris

There are a great many horned deities. This may not be a wiccan issue. You need more data.

Cernunnos, Karnuntinus, Caerwiden, (basically the same guy from different Brittish areas) Herne the Hunter, the Green Man, Pashupati, Pirassvita, Pan and Puck. There are also satyrs. Demonically speaking, Lucifer, Baphomet, and one even worse name I won't even mention.

Then there are all the horned serpent deities of Shamanism.

For the individual who said the church turned the horned god into a demon, you're WAY off.

So you're going to need a little more data. I would recommend holy water and a blessed candle.

The Horned God frightening her? *scratches head* What do you mean? Is she having dreams about it? Does she just think about it all the time? (If so, you might want to get her to a psychiatrist... obsessive thoughts are never a good sign.)

I don't understand how this is a Wiccan question. Within Wicca, the Horned God is generally seen as the Lord of animals and the wild -- a figure Who can sometimes be savage, but Who is usually viewed in positive terms as a protector and consoler. (See the Charge of the God, linked below.)

If you have any further questions, please feel free to email me.

ok I'm a little confused here. Is she having a dream about a horned god that frightens her? This needs some more explanation.

The horned god in wiccan and pagan belief is a friendly nature god that doesn't scare anyone.
The church turned that god into satan to create fear in people so that they'd either turn away from the pagan gods or be turned in by those who had.

I don't think she is Wiccan unless she is recently converted from Christianity. The Horned God (Cernunnos) is of Celtic origin and is a nature god. He is a heavy base for the Devil of Christianity and many people who are ex-Christians have some fear issues at first. Tell her to talk, and more importantly listen, Wiccans believe that a god only appears when it is important.

I'm sorry if I sound weird, but in my experience there is only one thing you can do.

You need to pray for her. If you are not a Christian, you need to find one. Jesus said "anything you ask in my name will be given to you." If you rebuke her vision in the name of Jesus it will leave. I don't have a bible with me, so I can't show you where to find it, but I suggest you read up. The bible talks about these types of experiences. And it's not good.

If you want to become an Christian so you can help your friend, accept that Jesus died and rose again in your heart. It is best if you confess this to someone. Then ask to pray for your friend.

Good luck and God bless!

the horned god is simply a male archetype of the natural world.

she was probably raised in a staunch Christian home, or has some lingering attachments to Christian imagery that associates horns with their devil. either that, or she's uncomfortable with the raw, wild sexual element sometimes attributed to him.

she can choose an archetype of masculine divinity that does not involve horns, if she chooses to.

I'm sure you're not retarded, however dreams are usually only that... DREAMS. Sounds like she needs some psychological counseling instead of a lesson in Wicca.
