I prefer Teflon, when it goes bad you know, and they're inexpensive to replace. Anodize can scratch also and you may not even know it, you now have a reactive pan or pot

I have both and feel there are pros and cons about both...but I think the most important thing about all treated cookware is the quality of it. Allegedly all the health problems have been addressed with Teflon. Of course they told us everything was safe before so who knows...but I think as long as you cook without scratching the surface it wouldn't be a worry.

I would feel the pans and see if either set has a heavier weight. A good, solid bottom will heat more evenly and give you better results cooking. Then I'd compare the coatings (and compare the ones on sale with expensive ones of the same type) and see if either stands out as feeling a higher quality. Also see if the anondized is safe in the dishwasher. Some are, some aren't and if that makes a difference to you that's something to consider. For cleaning by hand I find that the Teflon are easier to clean on the outside, Anondized on the inside (outside can be a bit of a challenge).

Also are the sets identical or are their different pots or pans that you might use more or less? I really think the answer to these questions are more important than which finish since both really do the trick. I think the answer is which one may be the better quality and work better for you.

Good luck with it...and if it's a big chain remember they usually are liberal with returns so I'd say try it and if you don't love it exchange it! BTW if there is a decent stainless set, that is is my set of choice, with a good quality teflon chicken fryer (extra large fry pan).

Adonized. I have them, they're great. Plus, Teflon is bad for your health.

Anondized is better, imho.

Teflon seems to scratch a lot easier if you don't use the right tools while the anodized is more forgiving.
