People talked about depression in grade 8, and how alot of teenagers drop out because of it, and i thought no matter what, i would NOT drop out.
But lately, my grades have been slipping greatly, I've been slowly ditching my friends for the literature section of the library at lunch, and I've wanted to cry...for no reason. I have no reason to be depressed..i don't think. But now..i'm..just falling apart. Should I talk to a school counsellor? or have you any other ideas?

You don't need a reason to be depressed, it can happen without any obvious cause. I think you should talk to a counselor sooner rather than later and hopefully get it sorted out BEFORE you drop out.

It's all on viewpoint. Talking to a counselor can really help. Depression is very common in Adolescence. I had the hardest time as a teenager. But nowadays I'm nothing like how I used to be. I wouldn't even recognize myself. But I needed to go to some counseling and talk about things.

It does sound like anxiety or depression. You could start out by talking to the school counselor. Or you could talk to your parents about seeing a doctor to see if you are indeed depressed.

Please do something and talk to someone. Depression (if that is what you have) is very hard to deal with by yourself.

Good luck to you, honey.

I dropped out from depression.. biggest mistake I ever made. Talk to your parents about it, have them take you to a therapist and get your feelings out.. it really does help to talk to someone that is on the outside looking in.

talk to a counselor. they may be able to help you see why you are feeling this way. just remember that no matter what someone in this world loves you a LOT and that dropping out of school isn't going to help you. it just makes more trouble and hassle later on in life....

you should talk to a counselor asap, school counselor or not. and that school counselor will probably recomend you to a therapist who will probably recomend you to a pyschologist. this all happened to me. and yes it is very easy for depression to cause you to drop out becaues you may lose all your motivation and care. this happened to me.. i started failing most of my classes.. losing my friends.. being awful to my boyfriend.. luckily i got help and now i'm righting what i did wrong. it's hard but it's worth it. you need to see someone. don't let this wait any longer. trust me. good luck!!
