i've seen this commercial about.... 2-5 years ago, and it claims that m&m's melt only in your mouth, not your hands/pocket. is this true?

Well they do melt when heated... they don't spread out and make a mess unless the candy coated shell is broken.
So keep them in your pocket or hand, just don't sit on them or make a fist.

Well just get a hand full in th ehot sun and hold them for a minute and see if they don't melt and in your pocket you need to clean your pocket

They're lying. I've had them melt in my hands and pockets many times.

Nope, they are more than happy to melt in your hands, your pockets, your flight suit; most anywhere, actually. They don't stay in my mouth long enough to melt.

They melt anywhere it's warm enough. There's less chance in your pockets though.

No, you always get blue on your hands if you hold them too long
And sometimes yellow and red
