100% yes without a doubt it will overtime lead to weight gain. When your sleeping, your body is resting, and doing other things at the cellular level, your metabolisim slows down. I would not be sleeping after eating for at least 2-3 hours if you can help it. if you are dying for something to eat at around bedtime choose something light, like yogurt.

It is believed that sleeping after a meal does lead to weight gain. But it really depends on what meal:

eating breakfast in the morning kickstarts your metabolism and gets your energy flowing. This also allows you to burn more calories during the day.

Lunch is the same way.

However, if you tend to eat dinner at a late time, or right before you go to bed, you are not burning as many calories as you are intaking.
Therefore as you sleep, your metabolism is not increased. Although, to contradict this, you do burn calories as you sleep.
But in conclusion, yes, you do tend to gain weight if you eat really late before you go to bed (especially foods with high calorie content).

hope that helps!

Maybe not,you are advised against exercise directly after a meal.

Perhaps a nice long walk would be more beneficial.
