what are we talking about here... Indian kind of middle eastern?
You might consider consulting one of the Hindu websites they have plenty of items for weddings. You could have a henna party where your friends and mother adorn you with the markings of henna painting on your hands and feet.
Personally I plan to have belly dancers to emphasize my fiance`s Indian heritage along with the henna dye's for my friends and family who wish to honor my fiance`s heritage.

Same as any other bridal shower theme. Something pretty, pink and feminine. It's a girl thing not an ethnic experience.

Go to paper lanterns.com, they have star shaped paper lanterns to hang with lots of middle eastern patterns for a good price. I love that site.

a miniture shadouf for the pomegranate punch,rose attar,jasmine and stephanotis potted scented plants($15 a plant in whittier farmers market california),shiek's tent with plenty of brocaded pillows for seating,low tables,brass serving platters,turkish coffee and belly dancers(there is a excellent middle eastern restaurant on Greenleaf Avenue in Whittier ,California which could cater the food and provide dancers and authenic musicians..in the old town section!!!!costumed buff, black scimitar weilding "eunuch" door guards in balloon silk pants and little else..except a turban with diadem and peacock feathers..silent and non responsive!!!handmaids in indian saris from city of Downey's indian section off the 91 freeway in california!!lots of rose,musk and sandalwood incense,trays of pomegranates,oranges,muscat grapes,majool dates,loquats,qumkuats and sliced chilled melons!!pin-the-tail-on the groom" games,prizes for the most seductive stories!!have a pole covered with a rope(like the magician's trick) and give a prize for the best "pole dance"after you dismiss the male servants!!ladies only!!the best body over 50 years old,the best body under 30 years old with prizes!!things like these!!all as if in a serallio ,safe from the prying eyes of men!!and their intrusions!!
