u say christianity and your only way to back it up is to say, "in god we trust" and "one nation under god"

research free-masonry, and you'll find that many founding fathers were free-masons. they also believe in a higher power. you'll see that George Washington and Benjamin Franklin were both Freemason.

why do you think everytime the word God is written it applies to christians only? u know the saying about assumptions dont u?

Well, Chippy honey, I'm Christian and I've never said that the USA was founded on Christian doctrine.

The USA is a secular Nation and founded that way. The freedom of religion wasn't given until the Bill of Rights. The freedom to practice the religion of your choice is in the first amendment of the 10 amendments known as the Bill of Rights.

And here it is:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.2

So, what was it you said about assumption...hummmmm

Do these words ring a bell?

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with inherent and inalienable rights; that among these, are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

What God were they talking about? Well Im pretty sure they werent Jews or Muslims, and they were from EUROPE which was CHRISTIAN. And the Puritans and Pilgrims were Christians. Hmm Im seeing a pattern here but Im just not sure!

Deism was alive and well during the time, many of the founding fathers were Deist.

Our nation was really meant to be Secular. It wasn't meant to be ran and based on any religious beliefs.
