I know that fusion is supposedly fused to the individual strands of the hair by wax, and that sew in weaves are sewed into braids. What I really want to know is that with either method will it break your own hair off. My hair is alittle past my shoulders and it took me a long time to grow my hair out from previous damage and I just want to try something new, but not at the cost of my own hair. What is the process of getting fusion off of your hair? How long will they last? What is the average price for both procedures? What hair is the best kind of hair to buy? Keep in mind that I am a black woman! I want the look to be like Tyra Banks or Beyonce. I don't and can't have perms in my originial hair, will that interfere with either process? Thanks in advance for any information you can provide. I live in Norfolk Virginia so if there are some good shops here that someone might know about please let me know.

Getting a weave sewn in is better than getting it bonded (glued). Its less damaging, it last longer and it usully lays better too. Any type of stress to your hair that involves pulling on it will cause some type of damage. So its good take a break if you ever were to get them year after year. Getting a weave sewn in can last up to six months if you maintain it well and if you get it done by a good beautician that specializes in weaves. You are in VA so you should probably have an abundance of good hair dressers out there, i dont know of any I am in Cali. The fact that you dont have a chemical relaxer ("perm") in your hair should not matter, since your hair will be cornrowed anyway. A good weave will be anywhere from $400 to $800 and greater depending on the length of your real hair and the length of the weave. It is best to get human hair rather than synthetic, i cant recommend any brands off hand but you should go in for a consultation with a stylist first so that they can recommend some. However, if your hair is already long as you mentioned and if its of a healthy texture you may want to just consider a really good wig if you just want a change. I have a friend that wheres wigs just for a new look every week, it looks cute and looks like a good weave. Beyonce wears lace fronts you can read more about those at the link I provided below.

Good luck girl! ;)

Fusion will definitely break your hair off. Anything that has to do with glue touching your hair will. Sew-in will not break your hair off unless the braids are too tight. Fusion is very expensive sew-ins cost around $150+ and last for 3 months you just have to go in every month and get your edges relaxed and get the tracks tightened. You wash the hair like normal using a de-tangling shampoo. If you want hair like beyonce or tyra they wear lace front wigs. Those look the most natural and preserve the real hair the best but the wigs are around $200-$700 depending on the quality. Lace front wigs look like the hair is growing from the scalp, they are awesome. You can swim in them and wash them while they are still on the head. They stay adhered for up to a month but personally I could not go that long without washing my real hair. You can go to your salon every week and have your hair washed and get the wig reapplied but if you can apply them yourself you can just take them off every few days and wash your hair and put it back on. But I think the most reasonable and affordable way to go is sewing in. Make sure you get a good hair extensions artist and also good quality hair. Virgin Indian Remy is expensive (about $130 a bag) but will look more natural and last longer than the $25 "beauty supply" hair. Call a hair extension artist in your area and get their suggestions on where to find good quality Indian Remy hair. Make sure the hair is virgin and has an intact cuticle. Just remember that a good weave is very expensive, to get my hair done cost me $500 but it lasts for several months. The hair will cost you at least $100 then your relaxer will cost at least $45 then getting the hair put in will cost at least $100, but not looking like a chicken head with a homemade weave is priceless.

both of them will break the hair if they are kept in for too long, two month is the ideal times with weekly wash, oil hair root and once a month treatment.i am a black woman also and because our hair in thicker the fusion is difficult to remove if the hair start growing out,you have to go back to the hair dresser.the average cost for a good hairdresser is about $350.00 to $500.00 hundred. The best hair would be milky way or yalky platinum because they look natural and are softer you don't need a perm they can sew or glue the hair on your hand or on a head cap"look like a stalking foot".
