Sometimes. Like anybody else in the grip of human nature. Also means being ill at ease depending on the situation, looking for control, feeling of insecurity. Most people generally aren't at ease either with themselves or others, let alone be at peace. On the other hand, it seems some are just born mean.

You're giving us way too much credit. None of us have the slightest understanding about how your brains work. If we did, then we could be "purposely mean."
As such, we have to hope to get lucky and accidentally stumble on the right way to be mean.

usally, in my case with my best friend(i am a girl and he is a boy)that does mean that he likes the girl he teases! and i dont just mean like; i mean so totally in love that-well you know what i mean!

guys are just weird like that. they dont want girls to think that they like them, so they be rude about it and be mean to you. basically, they try to rub it in your face that they don't like you. but not all guys are like that. some of them are actually nicer if they like girls. i guess it just depends on who the guy is. good luck...
