If the dog is large 6 is getting up there as some of the larger breeds start to have aging problems. I lost my large 120 pound male dog at age 10. Smaller dogs tend to live longer 12 - 16 or more years.

I have a dog that is about 120 pounds and he just turned 11 last weekend! I have heard small and medium breeds age 7 to 1, and large and up age 10/1! Your dog has alot of life left I'd say!

They are starting to get old at 6.
That's like a dog's middle age.

because 1 of our human years is 7 dog years so if they were 6 in our human years then 6x7dog years is 42 so then they are sort of old...but 6 isnt that old 14 is old for a dog

The old rule of "7 years of canine life = 1 year of human life" is no longer used. The new formula is as follows: The first year of your dog's life is = to 15 years in human life. The second year is = to 10 years. After that, each year counts as three human years so your dog is actually 37.

Assuming that you are asking how old that the dog is in thier own years at our age of six, it could have to be 42, since dogs age 7 times faster then us. 1 human year=7 dog years

Each year to us humans is the equivalent to 7 dogs year. So, if a dog is 6 in human years it would be 42 in dog year.
