I cut my gum on a toothpick. I think its infected. Will it go away on its own or could it spread and ruin my teeth? I can't afford a dentist, but I can go to a clinic type of thing today.

Absolutely go to the dentist! Especially since you are concerned that the gum is infected. If that is the case, you may need an antibiotic medication. And if an infection is not treated promptly, sepsis (infection throughout whole bloodstream) can occur and the person can get gravely ill. Please seek medical treatment asap :) Feel better soon.

You should go to the dentist if you think it's infected. In the meantime rinse your mouth 3 times a day with warm salt water. (4 oz water warm not hot + 1 tsp salt) That should help with the infection.

I agree with the other responders....sweetie you really need to get in and get this thing looked at! A doctor would probably be able to prescribe you with an antibiotic to take care of it!

Good luck!

you should go. Especially if you have diabetes. It could lead to a bad infection.
