Just whole potatoes with skin on...I have done it plenty of times before but, I can never seem to get the temp and time right..(one time - although they were really good - it took an hour and a half)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I have been in the restaurant industry for a long time now, and they bake a potato at very high temps usually 450-475 it takes about an hour to cook, but that depends on the size of the potato also.
Here is a trick that I really like especial if you want a quick potato. I microwave my potatos for about 4 minutes making sure to poke a few holes in them with a fork, then I wrap them in foil and put them in the oven on 450 for about 20-30 minutes depending on the size. To tell if you have a potatoe done gently squeeze it if it gives in then your potato is perfect. Take it out of the oven and gently tap it on the counter all around before you remove the foil.

Usually just under an hour is what I do....

12-14 small red potatoes
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Peel a strip from around each potato.
Place potatoes in an ungreased 3 quart baking baking dish.
In bowl, combine the oil, butter and seasonings; drizzle over potatoes.
Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 50-55 minutes or until tender, stirring every 15 minutes.

Poke holes in a cleaned potato. Rinse with water (you may sprinkle with seasoned salt or any other herb or spice). Bake at 400 degrees for about 1 hour. The potato skin turns out crispy and the inside tender.

Wrap in foil and bake at 350 for 35 minutes. Poke with toothpick or fork and if slides in and out easily its done.

It depends on the size of the potatoes. Set the over 180 degrees celsius (360 F), put spuds in and check after 45mins (again, depending on size of potatoes). If hard, check in half hour. And so on.

Keep the temp at 180 so the spuds are soft-cooked all the wat through.

I always wrapped mine in foil and baked at 450 for about an hour. They always turned out fine. Or at least, they did if they didn't have a spoiled spot in them.
