Yes, he will continue fighting for the exact same reason Evander Holyfield, Arturo Gatti, "Baby" Joe Mesi and countless other fighters have continued to fight long after they should've quit. What that reason is for sure only they can tell you that, you, me and everyone else can only speculate. I started boxing at the very young age of 8, by the time I turned 16 I had well over 200 amateur bouts I was obsessed with putting on a good show. I loved to hear the crowd shout my name. I loved whenever I was out and about people would ask me "When's your next fight?" After I won the Golden Gloves for the third time I stopped fighting for awhile, but I missed everything that I just wrote about and then everything would start to happen all over again. This went on for the next 15 years, off and on, and now finally off.

I was just a amateur fighter whose family was/is into boxing big time, just imagine everything I just wrote above intensified 1,000% and millions and millions of dollars to the equation and then you can only begin to wonder what's going on in Erics and so many other fighters heads.

Eric should retire. Eric has given the average boxing fight so much to admire and those of us that follow the sport religously are indeed in awe of his ability as a fighter. Some would say "He has two or three more good fights left." and I would argue "At what price?" I like Eric and I had the opportunity to meet him and talk to him on several occasions, that is exactly why I'd like to see him hang them up while he still has all of his senses. Eric is only so many more punches from having permanant injuries.

The battles with the scales as well as foe's have taken their toll on Eric, but as long as the crowd keeps cheering and there's money to be made by him and spineless promoters he'll fight and he'll fight to the best ofd his ability and he'll fight until his last drop of blood. Would we still cheer then?

Thanks for the question Electricboocaca.

He made enough money, gained enough fame and still has his face intact.

One of my all time favorites. You know he will give everything when the bell rings.

It's time to retire, Erik. God Bless You!

I think that is entirely up to Erik, he earned the respect of the boxing world long ago, and like Holyfield, earned the right to go out under his own terms.
